6 things that may get you asked to leave a CoWorking space

Joining just to “network”

That’s not what they’re for. They are to get work done.

Spamming fellow members

A definite no-no. Even though most, if not all, spaces have a list of members and/or their cards somewhere, this is not an invitation to spam them with your info.

Stealing the spotlight

While most CoWorking spaces are collaborative in some way, you will always have that one person who wants all the attention. This is frowned upon.

Flaking out

Why join if you do not use the space. You can check out LVCWs article “Beware the Gym Membership Syndrome” for some tips on avoiding this.

Bringing your drama

Just like any work place, this is not the time or place for your home drama. It’s one thing to tell a CoWorker that you’re having issues with the wife, it’s another to go on for half an hour or more taking up another persons work time.

Struggling in silence

Again, many spaces are quite collaborative and will gladly give advice or help you out. While, not engaging with other CoWorkers may not get you booted, it’s not very helpful for you, especially if you’re struggling with something.
